From out of space...... a (house) warming
Saturday saw all manner of denziens from space descend upon Tokyo to party with two of the cities newest resident green aliens.
Engaging in a bit of cross-species interaction were; a pair of space monkeys (one "in season" and not shy about it), lots of gir-liens, The Satellite Who Fell to Earth and of course a Man In Black to keep everyone in check.
For the most part the party was contained in the safe-zone but at one point a few participants managed to escape and surprise a few locals in the streets and the local supermarket (it's 24 hour supermarket selling booze and Tohatos so they are just begging to be visited by costumed revellers after midnight!).
I did feel sorry for the lone policeman on his bicycle but if you carry a lightsaber mounted on your bicycle then I'm gonna come say hello and ask you to pose for pictures! Seeing him posing and smiling in pictures later replaced guilt with a sense of having brightened up an otherwise dull night for the officer.
Not sure what to feed creatures from the cosmos Jojo prepared a veritable cornucopia of canapes and party food; fresh dips (roasted capsicum, tatziki, salsa), "eggs stuffed with eggs and stuff" (actually egg yolk, mayo and crab meat), chicken and pork sausages on shallot and coriander mash, 80's style flying saucers with skewers of cheese, onions, cabanossi, tomatoes etc. and heaps of crisps.
Was a very funny night and we hope fun was had by all, we're still picking up bits of silver from Jojo's dress from all over the apartment, and I woke up during the night wondering what the glowing spots in front of my eyes were - then remembered the glow in the dark nail polish... awesome.
